Add a new 'active_state' field to struct v4l2_subdev to which we can store the active state of a subdev. This will place the subdev configuration into a known place, allowing us to use the state directly from the v4l2 framework, thus simplifying the drivers. Also add functions v4l2_subdev_init_finalize() and v4l2_subdev_cleanup(), which will allocate and free the active state. The functions are named in a generic way so that they can be also used for other subdev initialization work. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
